Receive an Excel file. Attempt to open it in Microsoft Excel. Prompted with software activation. Log into Google Drive. Upload Excel file to Google Sheets. Print from browser. Oops. Print again from Google Sheets to default printer. Observe formatting errors. Reformat and edit document. Print a third time. Cross fingers and pray it looks good.
Receive an invitation to view a spreadsheets document in Google Sheets. Export and download Excel file to computer. Open in Microsoft Excel. Print file. Observe formatting errors. Reformat and edit document some more. Print. Gahhh.
Yeah, printing from file can be pain in the backside sometimes.
Part of the problem exists with file sharing: we’ve become way more comfortable working from a cloud, and for some, uploading Word docs and Excel sheets for collaborative use on Dropbox was happily replaced by something more simple and accident free: Google Drive.
Part of the other problem is that we use more devices than just a standard desktop computer. Tablets and mobiles are far more accessible and can easily become the only device available when an emergency print job is in order. So what do we do?
Canon Pixma has introduced an even easier way to print your most important documents that sit prettily in the Google Cloud. From your mobile phone or your tablet, you can now connect to your Google Drive and select what you’d like to print, which in turn, pushes the print job directly to you Canon printer. No file juggling, no mistakably printing from your Chrome browser’s Print button, no exporting and re-formatting. Things just got a tad bit easier for us who live in the clouds.
Quick Tip: When you have the chance always save a copy of your e-ticket PDFs to Google Drive. You never know when you might need to access it remotely and print it on the fly.
